About Coral Leadership

Andrew Griffiths is the founder of Coral Leadership based in Portsmouth, Hampshire.  He also works with associates on a number of interesting and challenging assignments.  He is a member of the Global Learning Network of Duke Corporate Education providing customised leadership education to a number of global clients.  Duke is the world’s best provider of executive education as rated by the Financial Times.

Andrew served for 22 years in the Royal Navy in a range of leadership roles.  His last 3 years (2007-2010) was spent in the Ministry of Defence developing strategic models to assist cross-Government thinking in their approach to strategy.  Prior to this, he was Head of Leadership Development in the Royal Navy, responsible for training over 3,500 of the Navy’s future leaders.  His leadership experience spans from working in teams on missions as diverse as the British Antarctic Survey, anti narcotic operations in the Caribbean and as Officer in Charge of a 26 nation observation team on the Iraq/Kuwait border prior to the second Gulf War.

His clients at Coral Leadership come from the power generation sector, finance and the arts.  He has developed a niche capability developing strategic leadership skills for senior women and facilitates sessions at the Institute of Directors annual Women as Leaders Conference.  Passionate about developing people, he brings fun to his training and is committed to allowing leaders to realise their true potential.

For Duke Corporate Education, Andrew facilitates a Luxembourg based cross cultural leadership programme for Arcelor Mittal.  In the UK, he has delivered a major change initiative for the Top 500 in Balfour Beatty and is rolling out a subsidiary programme to the next level down.  His latest client assignment is with PGS, a Norwegian based Marine Seismic Company.

Andrew has a BSc (Hons) in Metallurgy from Newcastle University, MSc in Control Engineering from Sheffield University and a CIPD PG Cert in the Psychology of Coaching from Herriot Watt University.  He is an NLP Master Practitioner trained by Dr Susi Strang.

He is also a graduate of the Military Staff College Advanced Command and Staff Course, although his proudest moment came when he passed his GCSE Spanish with flying colours! A keen sportsman and traveller, he has visited all 7 continents, over 120 countries and lists his favourite things as people, places, food and collecting experiences.
